About us
Timothy Jerrell
Timothy is a Spiritual Advisor and Co Founder of Black and PresentTM. For over three decades he has been on the Path of being a guide to others as a student and teacher of spiritual principles that reconnects us back to the Divine (God). Jerrell’s Path has its origins in the Christian church. As early as 15 years of age he began to speak publicly to small and large groups of people of all ages.
This journey eventually led him to explore deeper revelations of the Divine through many other spiritual paths and wisdom teachings. Jerrell uses a combination of intuition, accumulated wisdom, and self reflection to assist Black people in healing the inherited anxieties that come with the Black Experience.
Jerrell has helped thousands of people become Present to their inner power and live a life that is authentic to their Spiritual Path.
Trista Davis
Trista is the Co-Founder and Program Coordinator of Black and Present. She is a licensed Social Worker who has been involved in child welfare for a little more than decades in Tennessee and Washington, DC. She has specialized in supporting families and her teams in the provision of family crisis intervention services, child protective services, foster care and adoption services, and foster parenting licensing and supportive services. Currently, she manages the D.C. Child Welfare Training Academy overseeing all training curriculum design, development, and training facilitation for social workers and foster parents in the District of Columbia.
As an empath and mother, Trista is sensitive to the provision of safe and holistic healing spaces for black people which is the root of the creation of Black and Present. While working with children and families in crisis as well as dealing with issues within in her own family, she witnessed how band-aid interventions assigned to black people’s trauma often miss the mark.
Trista’s spiritual connection started with Christianity and has expanded to include a growing knowledge in Yoga and chakra-centered practices. She is focused on building a learning community that enhances the healthy existence of black people by affirming the beauty of blackness and cultivating an awareness of the intuitive guidance of God-Source.
